Have been working on several new ideas for my work.  Adding mixed media materials to enhance the surfaces of the work.

I have been exploring additive and subtractive elements in making art.  I try to create a painting in what I would consider my old way of painting and then obliterate it with new and different surface materials that cover the painting underneath and add texture.  I then carve out parts of new textural surface to reveal the under painting. This rework allows the viewer can see parts of the old work under the new surface materials. Then I continue to add marks and symbols that were in the painting to add layers of information to think about.

Some time the painting leads me in  another direction and I have to go with a textural painting or a painting in my former style of making art.
